TopKnotTae is run by owner Taelor Quay, an extension specialist and color stylist, and works out of Kalon Hair Studio in Worthington. Extension methods offered include hand-tied rows, tape-in singles or rows, and keratin individuals, which are often combined. Keratin individuals are applied only as a fill at the front hairline, either alone or alongside hand-tied extensions, rather than across the full head. Installation is priced after a consultation based on the method, starting at $950, and includes the hair, the installation, color for the extension hair and a custom cut to blend it in. Color on the natural hair is not included. Maintenance starts at $200 and does not include color. Tape-in maintenance is needed every 4 to 6 weeks, and the business says extensions last about 8 to 10 months with proper care. Color services include Refresh Me, starting at $275, which adds a Halo placement around the hairline with a roots-to-ends gloss or toner, cut and style. Blonde Me starts at $325 and adds a full head of foils, with pricing set after consultation. Mini blonding is $260 for a Halo-focused face-frame highlight with a gloss, cut and style. Full or partial blonding starts at $300, and more extensive foil work moves to intensive blonding at $350 and up. Root or solid color starts at $200 and includes a Demi gloss, deep conditioning, cut and style. Booking is by text only, to a work-only phone line. New guests send their name, the service they want, a current photo of their hair in natural light and inspiration photos, and receive appointment options within 48 hours. Responses can take up to 48 hours. The studio asks for at least 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule, does not charge cancellation fees at this time, and no longer accepts clients who no-call, no-show. Hours are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, with Wednesday starting at 8am and the other days at 10am, closing at 4pm; Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday are closed. Payment is by Square, accepting major credit cards, Apple Pay and cash, and invoices can be sent on request. A free parking lot sits just outside the plaza.
