The Ritzy Mist

The studio describes its feel as easygoing, lighthearted and free of judgment. Each appointment is tailored to the client's skin tone, plans and desired glow, with tans ranging from barely there to deep and bronzed.

In-studio spray tans start at $55, and the first tan for a new client is also $55. Several formulas are offered: the OG solution with an 8-12 hour rinse time, the OG with finishing powder for $70 (the powder is meant to reduce stickiness), the Rapid formula with finishing powder for $80 and a 2-6 hour rinse time, the Ritzy Reserve with finishing powder for $65, which is a custom blend made from leftover premium tanning solutions with a rinse time that may vary, and the Birthday Bronze for $60, which uses the OG solution with finishing powder.

Mobile spray tans start at $75, with the artist setting up a tent at the client's home. Group sessions for bridal parties, special events or friend groups come with group discounts and start at $300 for a minimum of five people, according to the studio. The Ritzy Bridal Package is $210 and includes three spray tans using the Rapid formula with a shimmery finishing powder, plus a complimentary add-on with each tan and Ritzy Mist undies.

Add-ons can be mixed and matched, up to three per appointment, and must be chosen before booking. Scents & Shimmer add-ons are $5 each and come in Orange Ginger, Pineapple, Coconut and Golden Shimmer. Skin Enhancer add-ons are $8 each and include Anti-Aging, Skin Firming and DHA Booster. The Restore CBD Concentrate is $10 and is marketed as soothing and hydrating after a tan, for sensitive or dry skin. Touch Up Glow is $40, a custom touch-up of a client's favorite solution lasting about 20 minutes, and must be booked within 3-5 days of the original tan.

The studio asks clients to prepare beforehand: shower 12 hours before, exfoliate, shave or wax 24 hours before, and skip lotions, sunscreen, oils, perfume, makeup and deodorant on the day. After the tan, clients wear loose dark clothing and avoid sweat, water and liquids until the first rinse, then rinse with lukewarm water, without soap, until it runs clear. Daily moisturizing with a gradual tanning lotion is advised, and heavy sweating, hot tubs, saunas, hot baths and showers can make a tan fade faster. Retail luxury items and add-ons are displayed for purchase during appointments.
