The Orange Chair

The Orange Chair was opened in April 2014 by Alex, who still works there as an owner and stylist. The salon moved to Bedford Crossing on Loomis Street in April 2016 and is a suite-based hair salon where each stylist works by appointment.

The team works with a range of hair types. Alex focuses on longer hair, including extensions, and Maria and Laura work across cutting and color, with Maria also specializing in curly hair. Heidi concentrates on grey blending and dimensional color.

Clients book appointments through the online booking tab, and consultations are arranged the same way. Walk-ins are not accepted. Cancellations need at least 48 hours' notice to avoid being charged the full cost of the appointment, and a credit card is taken to hold a booking, with no charge unless the cancellation policy is broken. Payment is taken by the stylist at the end of the appointment and can be made by cash, check, credit card or Apple Pay. Any issues with a service should be raised within three days.

Retail parking is in numbered commercial spaces 1 to 13, in front of Pro Nails, with spaces 1 to 5 set aside for the salon. Spaces next to the salon are private resident parking and should not be used. Two chairs are available for rent, and stylists interested in renting one are asked to email a resume.
