Muse Medicine opened as a private practice in New York in February 2023. About three years later it grew into The Muse, a healing arts studio at 119 W 23rd St, Suite 502, where its acupuncture, wellness and beauty services sit alongside movement classes, sound sessions, mahjong, workshops and trainings. The business is operated under Holistique LLC. The studio notes that acupuncture has been practiced for more than 3000 years.
A first visit begins with a comprehensive evaluation, after which the practitioner builds an individualized plan based on Eastern Medicine. Plans can bring together herbal medicine, supplements, dietary changes, movement, mindfulness and self-care routines. Herbal formulas are organic, ethically sourced and made for each patient. The studio describes its acupuncture needles as extremely fine and not painful, and cupping, gua sha or moxibustion can be added to a session.
On the aesthetic side, facial acupuncture is offered as a cosmetic treatment, and the studio says it softens expression lines and supports collagen and elastin. Holistic microneedling, also called collagen induction therapy, uses tiny needles to create micro channels in the skin. Facial gua sha and cupping can be added to any facial service. The studio says it uses medical-grade, toxin-free skincare and describes its aesthetic work as results-driven and science-based.
Beyond treatments, the studio hosts a weekly evening sound bath, Sunday Reset sessions timed to the moon phase, morning and vinyasa yoga classes, and Ballet Beats, which needs no dance experience. American Mah Jongg open play for all levels takes place twice a month, with tea, snacks, sets and cards provided. Beginner-friendly hand and beaded embroidery workshops are offered alongside ongoing workshops in cross-stitch, leather journal making, felt ornament making and tin ornament embossing, plus occasional guest sessions.
Sound Healing Training Level 1 is a two-day, in-person immersion taught by Michelle Belegrin, who designed the course and founded The Frequency Within. Muse Medicine services, including telehealth consultations, can be booked through The Muse's Jane online booking site, as can classes, workshops and events at The Muse.
The practice works from Eastern Medicine and treats each patient individually, with plans that may combine herbal medicine, supplements, diet, movement, mindfulness and self-care.
