Opened in 1999, The Louvre Salon is held and managed by Shawn and Shayna Kueker. In its first twenty years it expanded from a team of 12 stylists in a small leased space to more than 26 stylists and 3 spa professionals. Both the stylists and the spa professionals continue with extended education.

About

Hair services cover cutting, styling, extensions and color, and the salon stocks an assortment of professional hair products. Nail work is a major focus, with pink and white acrylics, natural and gel polish, manicures and pedicures. The salon describes itself as a full service nail salon.

Nail appointments are booked by calling or texting a nail technician ahead of time, and cancellations need 24 hours notice to avoid a fee. Gift certificates are available in any dollar amount.

The walls double as a gallery for local artists, whose work is rotated every two to three months and is mostly for sale. Artists who want to show work are asked to contact the salon for a portfolio review. The salon also supports artists in the Metro East and St. Louis and gives to charities in its community.

Stylists operate as independent business owners who set their own prices and schedule their own clients, and the salon says its nail services use current products and techniques in the industry.

Local art hangs throughout the salon and changes every few months.
