Operating since 2010, The Loc Garden is a full-service hair salon in Lanham with its own haircare line. The salon says it has provided loc services to the DMV community for more than a decade and describes its work as quality craftsmanship.

The suite is open Thursday through Saturday, 10am to 9pm. Only clients receiving services are allowed inside, and children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult and have their services approved in advance. Appointments are held with a $25 non-refundable deposit, which is credited toward the balance, plus a $2 processing fee. Tipping is welcome but not required, and can be made in cash or by card.

Services are grouped into loc maintenance and repair, luxury loc services, natural braided styles, wick locs, Garden Muse Locs and consultations. Larger installations such as loc extensions, instant locs, loc combining and wick locs require a consultation first. The Garden Consultation is a 30-minute one-on-one visit for those options, and the consultation fee is credited toward the appointment if it is booked within 24 hours.

It includes shampoo, a scalp analysis, a personalized plan for the hair and a complimentary Loc Garden product bundle. Guests are asked to put their phones away during services when possible.

The salon describes its services as therapeutic and goal-oriented, with personalized plans set during an assessment or consultation.
