The Humble Hive Studio

The studio is located inside Sola Salon Studios on Liberty Avenue in Pittsburgh. Clients book online through the studio's GlossGenius page, which also takes payments. The studio is open Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 AM to 7 PM, Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, and Saturday from 9 AM to 3 PM, and is closed Monday, Thursday and Sunday. Clients who cannot make an appointment are asked to tell the studio as soon as possible so it can reschedule.

The studio is run by its owners, Briauna Skinner and Bri. Briauna has about eight years in the hair industry and specializes in shear cutting, clipper cutting, facial waxing and heat styling. She trained at Parkway West CTC and at Empire Cosmetology School of Monroeville.

Cuts include clipper or above-the-shoulder scissor cuts for short styles, and tapered or skin fades that can be finished with a foil shaver. Most cuts end with a eucalyptus hot towel finish, and several services add a shampoo, conditioner and blow out. Longer hair is priced separately, with options for a cut, a blow out, or a straight or curled style. Children's cuts are offered for youth 10 and under.

Beard maintenance is available with a clipper or scissor cut and does not include a straight razor. Facial waxing uses honey hard wax, which the studio notes is suitable for sensitive skin, for eyebrows, lips and chin. Color services, including root refresh, foil lightening and partial foiling blonding sessions, are for current clients only.
