The Curl Loft

The Curl Loft brings several independent stylists together under one roof, and each one works with their own specialty and style. Hair of all textures is welcome, including straight hair, and clients do not need to have curly hair to book.

The curly haircut is done with the hair dry and in its natural state. The stylist then sets the curl using product and a diffuser. Some stylists also offer a traditional haircut for clients who want a blowout as the finished look.

Clients are asked to arrive with freshly washed, dry hair in its natural texture and to use minimal product. Ponytails, buns, headbands and hats are best avoided on arrival for a curly cut, since they can disrupt the natural curl. Express cuts are reserved for existing clients, booked three to six months after their last cut. They are 30 to 45 minute dry maintenance visits that lift layers, trim existing bangs and remove no more than 3 inches of length, and they do not include a wash or set. Major changes such as significant length removal, new bangs or a major shape change require an Existing Client Full Cut.

Personalized education on caring for natural hair at home is part of the offering. Each stylist sets their own cancellation and late policy, since the salon operates as a booth rental space. Stylists interested in renting a booth can request the details by emailing thecurlloftsalon@gmail.com.

To find the salon at 6842 Embarcadero Lane, start at Invita Cafe at 6806 Embarcadero Lane and walk up the stairs toward the coffee shop. Turn right and continue about halfway down the complex. The salon is on the west-facing side. The large parking lot is shared with the Poinsettia Station Coaster stop.
