The salon was started in response to the difficulty many textured-hair women have had finding simple solutions that actually work for their hair. The goal is to turn curl care into a routine a guest understands and can keep up at home.

A visit starts with learning about the guest's hair and how they live with it, so the salon can build a regimen that suits their lifestyle and hair goals. Curly cuts and color services are done on dry, detangled hair. Guests who arrive with very tangled or wet hair pay a $15 upcharge for the extra drying time, and detangling beyond the 20 minutes included in each service is billed at $20 per additional 20 minutes.

New clients booking All Over Color, Balayage, Balayage plus Root Color Retouch, or Root Retouch need a consultation first, and the $20 consultation fee goes toward the service if they book it. Online booking opens 60 days ahead and requires a $25 deposit that is deducted from the total. That deposit can be transferred once, with rebooking at least 24 hours before the appointment, and is otherwise nonrefundable. Cancellations and reschedules need 24 hours' notice; same-day cancellations are charged the full price, and no-call no-shows are charged the full price and cannot rebook until the balance is paid.

Anyone away 8 months or longer starts with the New Guest Curly Cut Package. Children ages 10 and up are serviced at standard pricing, and extra guests are not allowed except a minor accompanied by a parent or guardian. The salon is open Monday, Thursday and Friday from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm, Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, and closed on weekends.

Guests are taught what their hair needs and given a regimen that fits their daily life and goals, with the aim of carrying salon knowledge into their routine at home.
