The Colour Room

The Colour Room started in 2014 in a bedroom of owner Jessica Rae's home. It later grew into a full salon at 6915 Bandera Rd, Unit 101, in Leon Valley.

Color is the core of the work. Color transformations, including balayage and foilage lived-in techniques, are the main service, alongside color corrections and fashion colors. Women's haircuts are also offered.

The salon describes itself as a go-to expert for Hispanic hair, with particular attention to thick, dark hair.

Visits are individualized and begin with a one-on-one consultation. Consultations and scheduling happen by text message at (210) 316-2045. For pricing, clients send current photos of their hair and photos of the color they want. Appointments are required. The salon is open Monday to Saturday, 8am to 6pm, and the front desk is open Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.

The salon runs an apprenticeship for people new to the industry, started in 2018, that covers color trends and cutting techniques. Applications are sent by email with a resume and an Instagram handle to thecolourroomtx@gmail.com.
