The Color Salon

The Color Salon opened in 1987 in Scarsdale, Westchester County. Its founder, Barbara Whiteford, built her color training at Henri Bendel and the John Sahag Salon in New York before opening her own salon. Many of her early clients came from the tristate area, and some still visit from her New York City days.

The salon offers the full range of professional hair color, along with haircuts, styling and smoothing treatments. Keratin Express is a one-hour smoothing treatment that starts at $130; according to the salon, its results last up to six weeks. Malina – One and Done is a Brazilian smoothing system built on plant-based proteins, vitamins and amino acids, starting at $300. The salon says it reduces curl by up to three levels and gives three to five months of frizz-free hair.

The salon is open Tuesday through Saturday and says it keeps appointments on time for clients who arrive on time. Services that are not on the online booking menu can be arranged by calling the salon. It sells AMIKA styling products. A client testimonial on the site praises the staff as pleasant and caring and the work as high quality.
