About
Barbara Whiteford is a colorist and the founder of The Color Salon. She began her professional career at Henri Bendel in New York City, where she worked as assistant to Head Colorist Constance Hartnett under the direction of Jean Louis David, and learned and practiced balayage there.
She then joined the team at John Sahag Salon in 1986, where she completed intensive training in foiling and color weave techniques. In 1987 she opened The Color Salon in Scarsdale. She became a L'Oréal professional colorist.
Many of her early clients came from the tristate area, and some still visit the salon from her New York City days.
