Tangled NYC is a hair salon on East 4th Street in Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn. The salon describes its work as modern hair design, and its stylists have worked in the neighborhood for more than a decade. Two of the master stylists, Anna and Ashley, are co-owners.
Each visit begins with a free consultation, which can be in person or virtual and lasts about ten minutes, and is offered for any hair service. Stylists shape the look around how a client lives day to day, and they explain how to maintain the hair at home between appointments.
Services fall into four groups. Hair styling includes haircuts, dry curly haircuts, clipper cuts, blowouts and down styling, and cuts for kids and tweens. Coloring includes single process color, all-over color and glaze or toner services. Highlighting covers custom lightening and blonding, sized by area or portion of the head, along with platinum card work and color corrections, which are booked by consultation and can take several sessions. Texture treatments include partial and full keratin treatments, Cezanne Keratin Express and Brazilian Blowout. Custom services are handled by inquiry. The salon does not currently offer updos, braiding, straight razor shaves or beard trims.
Prices are listed as ranges, and the booking page shows starting prices, so the menu is the more accurate source. Extra product or time can change the cost. A credit card is needed to book but is not charged until the day of service, and clients can change their payment method during the appointment. The salon accepts major credit cards, Venmo and cash. Appointments are confirmed 48 hours ahead. Cancellations or no-shows within 24 hours are charged half the booked services, and clients more than 15 minutes late may need to reschedule.
Customizes looks to fit each client's daily routine and educates clients on maintaining their hair at home between appointments.
