SweetSpahh Body Sugaring Studio is a hair removal studio at 143 Park Lane, Suite 204, in downtown Kirkland. It is housed inside Kirkland Healing Arts and serves clients from Seattle, Bellevue, Issaquah, Redmond, Kirkland, and Greater King County. The studio offers body sugaring, which it also calls sugar waxing, for both women and men.

The method uses a paste made from sugar, lemon juice, and water, which the studio describes as all-natural and not tested on animals. The paste is applied by hand at a lukewarm, body-temperature consistency and worked in the direction of hair growth, so the hair comes out in that direction. The same area can be treated more than once with the paste if needed. The studio says hair can be removed as short as one-eighth inch, which is about four to seven days of growth, and recommends a quarter inch for first-time clients.

According to the studio, sugaring is gentler than waxing, less painful, suited to sensitive skin, and easier to clean up, with no sticky feeling afterward. It also says hair removal by sugaring lasts four to six weeks, and that after a few treatments on a regular schedule, hair grows back more slowly, softer, and finer. The studio notes that noticeable change can take 18 months to three years, depending on hair density. Mild redness and small red spots after a treatment usually fade within a few hours to a day, according to the studio.

Services are grouped into face sugaring, arms, bikini area, upper body and torso, and legs. Face options include lip, chin, sideburns, cheeks, jawline, brows, and full face with or without brows. Bikini area services run from happy trail and cleft through basic, inner thigh, extended, and cheeks plus cleft, up to Brazilian maintenance and full Brazilian. Several services have a coarse heavy hair option at a higher price, including the chin, bikini area, upper body, and legs.

Reservations need a valid credit card on file, and the studio recommends booking ahead. Changes or cancellations need 24 hours' notice; with less notice, half the service fee is charged to the card on file, and a no-show without notice is charged the full fee. Late arrivals may not receive the full service but are charged for the reserved time. Cancellation and no-show charges are made without prior notification. Cash, checks, and credit cards are accepted. Anyone under 18 must come with a parent or guardian. Prices are subject to change without notice.

Hours are Wednesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Before a visit, clients are asked to avoid exfoliating for 24 hours and to avoid oil or moisturizing creams on the area one to two days beforehand. After a treatment, clients should skip exfoliating the day of and the day after, avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and infrared lamps, and not come in while sunburned. Between appointments, razors and depilatory creams are not recommended.

Hair is removed by hand-applied sugar paste worked in the direction of growth, which the studio presents as a gentler, less painful option than waxing.
