Sweet T Salon opened in Raleigh in 2000. It grew out of Classy Cuts, which Amy originally owned, and Nancy later rebranded it as Sweet T. The salon describes itself as family-owned, women-owned and owned by NC State alumni. It moved to Departure Dr. from Six Forks Rd. after 23 years at its earlier location.

The team has six stylists, and the salon works on a team service model, so any stylist's skills are available and clients are not tied to one person. Staff attend continuing education classes. Walk-ins are welcome when a stylist is free, though appointments are recommended. New clients book a $25 color consultation or a haircut before their first color or highlights.

Oil-based blonding uses Scruples' oil lightener in place of bleach, and is priced to the hair. Keratin Complex smoothing treatments are offered in four options and aim to reduce frizz and make hair easier to style. Curly-hair clients begin with a pre-consult, and cuts are shaped to each curl pattern. Perms and body waves range from tight, low-maintenance curls to long, loose waves; every perm starts with a consultation and a $100 non-refundable retainer that goes toward the service. Gray blending uses Scruples and ammonia-free Oligo color lines. Men's cuts and beard trims are offered under Southern Gentleman's Services, and pageant coaching and wedding hair and makeup round out the specialties.
