Music plays throughout the space, original artworks by Leo Villareal, Renee Ricard, Matthew Ritchie and Robert Lambert hang on the walls, and the salon describes its spirit as bohemian, in the tradition of the Chelsea Hotel.

The salon says its clientele spans business, tech and the arts. Its site names clients including Matthew Modine, Malcolm Gladwell, Adrien Brody, Jake Gyllenhaal, U2, Willie Nelson and Elvis Costello. It also styles hair for red carpets, movie premieres, book launches, art openings, dinner parties and weddings, and past events include Paramount movie premieres and dinners at Il Buco.

Every service is booked by appointment, though visits without one are welcome. Hours are Tuesday and Friday 12 to 7, Wednesday 10 to 6, Thursday 12 to 8 and Saturday 10 to 6, with Sunday and Monday closed. Cancellations within 24 hours of the appointment typically carry a 50% fee, and the salon is not responsible for lost or forgotten belongings or for damage to or discoloration of jewelry or clothing.
