About
April Barton runs Suite 303, a business she founded in 1995. She has cut hair in New York City for more than thirty years, serving a clientele of actors, writers, musicians and artists. Clients have included Matthew Modine, Malcolm Gladwell, Ethan Hawke, Gabriel Byrne, Bono, Mary J. Blige, Willie Nelson, Kara Swisher and Mark Ronson. Interior cutting, a method she both practises and teaches, shapes hair from the inside out. Her cuts keep their shape well beyond the usual period. She was a founding member of Ludlow House, the New York City property run by Soho House. Her work has been featured in films and in magazines such as Rolling Stone, the New York Times, New York Magazine and Vogue, and photographer Mark Seliger has documented it. Her debut memoir, See You in the Morning, is set for release in spring 2027 through HarperCollins' Dey Street imprint.
