Sola Salons is a suite rental business rather than a traditional salon with staff. Each suite is leased to an independent professional who runs their own boutique salon, sets their own prices and keeps the profits. The stated mission is to give beauty and wellness professionals rental space that helps them build their businesses. The company says it has a community of more than 20,000 independent business owners.

The Bearden location is on Homberg Drive, close to the Kingston Pike corridor, with a Chick-fil-A nearby and a Kroger and Starbucks next door. Each Sola Salon Studios location is independently owned and operated by a franchise owner, and each professional or business inside is independently owned and operated as well.

Each renter receives a key to their own suite, which has a glass door with an individual lock, and can set their own working hours. Access is available around the clock, though hours vary by location. Rent is a single weekly fee that covers all utilities and Wi-Fi, and the website says there are no surprise fees. It also says leasing a suite costs a similar amount to renting a chair or booth at a traditional salon.

Suites come with full-spectrum lighting, a shampoo bowl and a styling chair. Shared amenities include 24/7 security, on-site laundry, a breakroom, bathroom facilities and janitorial service. Renters may decorate their suite with their own artwork, music, furniture and decor, so each space can reflect the individual business inside it.
