Silk Co. Aesthetics is a one-person studio on Saint Clair Avenue in Saint Paul, run by its founder, Laini Parlow. The menu covers skincare, lash and brow services, and waxing, and each service is built around the individual client's skin and goals rather than a fixed routine.

New clients can book a complimentary consultation to talk through their skin and what they want from a visit before committing to a treatment. The studio says its services suit every skin type, including dry, oily, combination, acne-prone, sensitive and mature skin. Chemical peels are selected after the skin type and sensitivity have been assessed, with the solution and strength chosen to match.

Appointments can be booked online at least 24 hours ahead, and a credit card is required at booking to hold the time. Rescheduling with 24 hours' notice carries no penalty. Cancellations made with less notice are charged half the service cost, and no-shows are charged the full service. A 15-minute grace period applies to late arrivals, but they are charged for the full session.

Clients are asked to arrive 5 to 10 minutes early to complete paperwork and to avoid makeup or skincare on the treatment area that day. Anyone with a medical condition, allergy or medication that could affect a treatment should disclose it beforehand. Clients who are unwell are asked to reschedule. Treatment areas are sanitized between clients, and gloves and possibly masks are worn during treatments.

Gift cards range from $25 to $200 and can be used for waxing, lashes, skincare products, facial treatments and brows. Payment is accepted by major credit and debit cards, contactless payment and cash. Refunds are not issued for completed treatments. The salon describes its treatments as results-driven.

Every service is one-on-one and tailored to the client's skin and goals, starting from a consultation.
