The visit is built around the child's comfort. Kids can sit in a car-shaped chair, such as a police cruiser, toy jeep, race car or mini car, while watching cartoons or Netflix. The salon also offers a social narrative to help children with anxiety or sensory sensitivities feel at ease before a cut. Each haircut includes a wash, cut and blow-dry, along with video games, a minicure, a balloon and a lollipop.

Parents are welcome too. There is a private lounge for a parent's haircut or wash and style, and Xbox stations and a Tween Lounge for older kids. Day of Beauty brings hair, nails and makeup into a private Tween Lounge for up to an hour. Appointments can be booked online or in store, and cancellations need at least 24 hours' notice to avoid fees.
