SEVENTWENTY collective began on July 1, 2009 as salon seventwenty in a 900 square foot space. It now occupies a 3,000 square foot shared workspace where independent beauty artists work side by side in a shared, artistic environment. Krista and Adam Gotthardt own the business, and new members must submit portfolio work to join the collective.

The business describes its environment as inclusive and very color focused. Many members specialize in intuitive cuts, curly cuts and bohemian shag looks, and the team includes brand ambassadors and educators. The business says its artists stay educated and current in the industry.

New color clients need an in-person consultation with their artist before booking, and many artists book only through links on their profile pages. Services and pricing depend on the stylist booked. Haircut pricing is the same regardless of gender, while color pricing varies by hair length, density and the artist. Multiple artists offer event styling. Cutting services include a wash and style out, and dry cuts are only offered for shaping on clean hair or cleanup on short styles, as the artist decides. Haircut and color changes need notice: haircuts need 24 hours and color needs 48 hours. Late cancellations are charged 50 percent of the service, and same-day cancellations and no-shows are charged the full amount. Rescheduling that breaks policy is treated as a no-show. Guests may not bring along extra people without a booking, and children may not join a parent's service. Trained service animals are allowed, but emotional support animals are not accommodated. Services are non-refundable, though an artist will adjust a service within reason if contacted within 7 days. Product purchases are final unless defective.
