Before opening the studio she created Rosewater Skincare, a salon retreat on Union Street in San Francisco, which she founded in 1991 and where she says hundreds of clients visited. She has also taught skincare locally.

The studio is built around corneotherapy, a approach to skin care that treats the outer layer as living tissue. Treatments are developed from that research, and the studio advises against stand-alone chemical peels or microdermabrasion unless the skin has first been prepared and its barrier repaired. Each client's home care and in-studio treatments are tailored to their skin condition and concerns.

The studio works with a range of concerns, including acne, sensitivity, rosacea-type redness, dryness, psoriasis, hyperpigmentation, and sun damage. Facials are offered at several lengths, from a 45-minute refreshing treatment to a 120-minute face, neck, and décolleté session with Swedish massage. A first visit is a 90-minute introductory facial that begins with a review of skin history and lifestyle factors.

Micro-channeling is offered as an anti-aging option. Micro-current facials and add-ons target toning and lifting on the face, neck, and small areas such as the throat, eyes, or lips.

Beyond facials, the studio offers manual lymph drainage in the Dr. Vodder style, which Sandra includes among her advanced certification techniques, along with a dry-brushing body treatment for the back and shoulders, brow and lash shaping and tinting, and facial waxing. The studio also publishes a skincare blog called SkinSense.

Treatments are built on corneotherapy principles, with home care and in-studio treatments customized to each client's skin.
