Sand Hair Co. is a Tampa salon at 5226 N Nebraska Ave. Its main focus is blonding and hair extensions, and its team includes artists and stylists at several skill levels, from level 1 through level 4. Owner and founder Amy works as a level 4 artist alongside salon coordinator Chelsea, who is also a lead level 4 artist.

Services are planned for each guest. Stylists talk through what the client wants from their hair and suggest hair care products to take home. Blonding ranges from full, high-lift blondes built with several foiling techniques to softer face-framing work, root maintenance and toner refreshes, and dimensional brunette and copper shades.

Extensions are custom-matched to the length and density a client wants, and the salon works with several extension brands in a range of colors. New extension clients need a consultation before their first service. Installs are scheduled about a week after that consultation so hair can ship, and move-up maintenance is usually recommended every 8 to 10 weeks.

Booking details: a card must be on file when booking. Cancellations or reschedules reported less than 48 hours before the appointment carry a fee of half the service total. Clients who arrive more than 15 minutes late may be asked to shorten the service or rebook, with a 50% deposit. Children and extra guests are not allowed at appointments. Cash, card and Apple Pay are accepted; checks are not. If a service has a fault, the salon offers a complimentary correction when it is contacted within 72 hours of the appointment.
