Salon On First

Salon On First is located at 1134 First Street in Coronado, at the corner of 1st and C. Marilyn Klisser became the owner in 2019, has since transformed the space, and also works as a stylist at the salon. The salon describes its goal as helping every client leave feeling good about how they look.

The menu is organized into groups: color, haircuts and blowouts for women, men and children 12 and under (including bang trims and curly cuts), men's grooming with grey blending and men's haircuts, keratin treatments, hair extensions, perms with head spa and scalp treatments, and bridal hair, updos and makeup. Color services cover partial and full highlights, balayage, babylights, face-framing highlights, toner, glaze and color correction. Keratin options include a keratin express and a smoothing keratin treatment, and extensions include consultation, placement, removal and touch-ups.

Current starting prices are $110 for a root touch-up and blow-dry, $140 for all-over color, $160 for a root touch-up, haircut and blow-dry, and $245 for all-over color, haircut and blow-dry. The booking page estimates these take about 75, 90, 105 and 130 minutes or more, respectively. A complimentary consultation is offered.

Appointments are booked by calling 619.996.3200 or through the salon's online booking page on GlossGenius. The online page lists the salon as open Monday through Sunday, 9 AM to 5 PM, and free parking is available. The salon describes itself as the best hair salon in Coronado and says it was voted Coronado's 2026 Best Hair Salon; these are the salon's own claims.
