Jessica Pintia brought Salon JP to life in Wicker Park after moving to Chicago at 19 and working in the city's salon scene. The salon says its mission is to help clients feel confident and embrace their own beauty, and that it focuses on the health of hair as well as how it looks.

Every guest starts with a custom consultation with a member of the team. Services are priced by the hour, and each hourly rate covers all products and techniques with no add-on fees. Appointments are scheduled around the time a desired result takes, and the salon does not double book a stylist while a color is processing. Pricing is gender neutral and guests are booked by time. New clients complete an online form covering hair history from the last five years, including chemical and color services, and share photos of their current and desired hair.

Wedding services are by appointment only and include trial hair, the wedding day bride, bridesmaid and mother hour services, pre-ceremony or reception hair changes, and photo touch-ups. Destination weddings are offered, with pricing available by contacting Jessica Pintia directly. Jessica's wedding work has taken her to Mexico, Paris, Chicago, Florida, Hawaii, New Orleans and Nantucket, and it reaches beyond hair to help with dresses and checking hair during photos.

Clients who cancel within 24 hours or do not show up are charged 60% of the service, and a second cancellation or no-show is charged 100%. Clients can text JOIN to (844) 879-7751 to receive text message updates and discounts.

Each visit begins with a custom consultation, and the salon describes its focus as hair health alongside appearance, with time booked to fit the result wanted.
