About

The salon has two Florida locations: one in St. Johns at 150 Fountains Way, and one at 389 Paseo Reyes Dr in Palencia, which is closed on Sundays. Services cover color, cuts and styling, extensions, and classes for stylists. The salon describes itself as the home of balayage and as a leading extension salon in Saint Johns County.

Owner Kristen Mckennon developed the Golden Ave patent extension method, which the salon offers alongside row-based and length-based extensions. Extensions require a consultation before booking, and consultations are complimentary and recommended for color corrections and major changes too. The salon says its haircare lines are Honey Certified, entirely natural, and ethically sourced.

Education is central to the business. Honey University holds classes open to all stylists, including Monday educational sessions, and runs an assistant program with hands-on apprenticeship, monthly test-out days, and an estimated completion time of one to one and a half years. A two-day Golden Ave Extensions certification class is also offered, and experienced artists mentor emerging stylists.

Appointments can be booked online, by phone, or in person, and a credit card is required to reserve. Booking two to four weeks ahead is recommended for color and one to two weeks ahead for haircuts. Guests are asked to arrive five to ten minutes early, and arriving more than fifteen minutes late may mean rescheduling or a shorter service. Cancellations and changes need 24 hours' notice, and late cancellations or no-shows are charged half the service fee to the card on file. Payment is due at the visit by cash, major credit card, or Apple Pay. Because seating is limited, guests are asked to come alone or bring one companion, and children must be supervised by an adult.

Education comes first, with experienced artists mentoring emerging stylists and a structured path for those training in the trade.
