The salon describes itself as education first and says it is known for thoughtful color work, custom extensions and smoothing services. It also says it uses premium smoothing systems that luxury salons use. Associates are licensed cosmetologists trained through the salon's structured education program, and the salon's stylist levels are based on demand for a stylist's time rather than years in the chair. Associates take on only the tasks their provider is confident they can perform, under that provider's direction.

Visits start with a conversation about what the client wants. Haircuts are shaped around hair texture, lifestyle and the desired shape, and blowouts and styling are tailored to the client's hair and the finish they want. Keratin treatments always begin with a personalized consultation and most take two to three hours, depending on hair length and density. Japanese straightening also requires a consultation first. Hair extensions require a personal consultation, and the $65 extension consultation fee is applied to the extension service.

Blonding results depend on starting color, past treatments and hair condition, so a major change may take more than one visit. Major color changes, corrective color and previous color concerns should be discussed with the salon before booking. Most appointments are booked several weeks ahead, though walk-ins are accepted when availability allows. First-time guests pay a $50 deposit for haircut bookings, and blowout bookings require a 50 percent deposit. Cancellations or reschedules with less than 24 hours' notice are charged 50 percent of the scheduled services, and missed appointments without notice are charged in full. Prices shown are starting prices, and the final total is confirmed before booking.

Education comes first, and haircuts, blowouts and smoothing are customized to each client's hair, texture and goals. Associates work only within tasks they are confident in, under their provider's direction.
