Salon 1322 was founded by Deb Clendening, who also manages the salon and still works behind the chair a couple of days a week. The team includes stylists with a range of specialties, from lived-in blonde and brunette color to curly cuts, vivid color and sewn-in extensions.

The salon's aim is beautiful, healthy hair in a welcoming and relaxed setting. The team believes good results start with a thoughtful consultation, personalized expertise and products that support hair and scalp health over the long term. Consultations can be held in person or virtually.

Clients can book online with a chosen stylist or with the next available one, and check in on the iPad at the front of the salon when they arrive. Guests are asked to leave a few extra minutes for parking, which is complimentary for two hours along El Camino Real, with more space in the Caltrain lot across the street. Additional guests, children and pets are asked to stay home unless arranged in advance, and anyone who is unwell is asked to contact the salon before their visit. Schedule changes need at least 48 hours' notice to avoid cancellation fees, and product exchanges are accepted within 7 days of purchase.

Signature offerings include Kerastase treatments, such as a scalp and hair detox add-on and a blow out with treatment, along with a range of color techniques from balayage with foil to grey blending. Extensions are started through an online form, and corrective and vivid custom color are booked after a consultation. Gift cards come in set amounts or a custom value, and can go to one recipient, to yourself, or be funded by a group.
