Salon 124 salons are in Grayson, Duluth, Dacula, Suwanee and Monroe. Genesis Salon Webb Gin in Lawrenceville opened in 1996 and offers hair services at moderate prices, and New Artist by 124 in Grayson is a salon for recent cosmetology graduates offering services at reduced rates. The group says Modern Salon magazine gave Salon 124 its Salon of the Year Award of Special Distinction in 1997, and that Salon Today recognized it as one of America's fastest-growing salon organizations.

Training has been part of the group since its first cosmetology school, the Process Institute of Cosmetology, opened in Lawrenceville in 2006. In 2014 it was renamed Keune Academy by 124 under an alliance with Keune Haircosmetics. The academy starts classes every eight weeks and offers Hair Design and Master Cosmetology certifications. In 2024 the training program was consolidated at the New Artist location in Grayson.

Stylist pricing follows a level system tied to experience, expertise and education, and rises slightly as a stylist moves up. Cuts are booked for about 45 minutes to an hour and include a shampoo and blow-dry, while the Blow-Dry service includes a shampoo, scalp massage and blowout. Stylists keep detailed color formula records and are continuously trained on new cutting, color and keratin trends. Balayage is listed at $106 to $221 at Salon 124 and Genesis locations, and perms at $75 to $209, with the perm price quoted at appointment.

Hair extensions are made from human hair that can be washed, blow-dried and styled, and a consultation with an extension expert is required before booking an application. Options include the Mago Method, Tape In, Weft, Keratin Tip and Micro-Link (I-Tip). Custom wigs and toppers are offered at the Grayson salon, with private consultations and professional installation. Clients are enrolled in the 124 Rewards program automatically and earn points on hair product purchases, with 500 points redeemable for $10 off. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice, and missed appointments, are charged 50% of the scheduled services, so clients should review the policy before booking.

The salon's stated aim is to raise standards across the beauty trade and in the neighbourhoods it works in. Stylists take ongoing training in current cutting, colour and keratin techniques.
