Some professionals work at the salon as independent providers, including a laser professional, a skin therapist and a makeup artist. The salon says these providers set their own artistry, pricing and results, and that it is not responsible for their services.

Sustainability is a stated focus. The salon is certified by Green Circle and says it diverts 95% of its waste from landfills and waterways. Its practices include energy and water conservation, reducing salon waste and using compostable single-use towels. For products, the salon looks for gluten-free and vegan options and hand-selects premium brands, and home haircare can be ordered from its online store for pick-up, delivery or shipping so clients can maintain their looks between visits.

Booking runs through the salon's online platform, Phorest, which also handles gift cards, series and memberships. A card on file is a booking requirement, and the Ron King Salon app, available in the Apple and Android app stores, covers visit history, booking, rescheduling and card changes. A $10 environmental services fee appears on each bill.

Appointments are confirmed 48 hours ahead by email or text, with a phone follow-up if needed. Extensions and any appointment four hours or longer require a non-refundable 50% deposit, and the curly haircut, curly highlights and curly wash and style services require a full non-refundable deposit at booking. Wedding and event deposits are also non-refundable. Cancellations made within 48 hours forfeit the deposit, a no-show is charged the full appointment fee, and clients who are ill with a fever or cough can reschedule the morning of with the cancellation fee waived. Clients who are not satisfied can ask for a service adjustment within 7 days. Sales of retail products, services, extensions, wigs, packages and gift cards are final, long or dense hair can incur an extra charge, and pets are not allowed except certified service animals.

The salon's philosophy is easy-wear: signature looks that are simple to recreate day to day and that hold their shape for a long time between visits, a direction the salon says decades of experience helped shape.
