The cut menu includes bang or neck trims, buzz cuts, kids cuts, clipper cuts, short and long cuts, specialty fashion cuts and curly specialty cuts. The color menu covers short color, toner refreshes, root retouches, mini and full foil, partial foil, balayage, all over color, bleach and tone, vivid fashion color and corrective color, using Keune and Danger Jones color lines. Cuts include a shampoo, scalp massage and style, and color services include a deep-cleansing shampoo, scalp massage and full style. Most prices are starting prices. Complex transformations, high-density hair and corrective color are billed at the stylist's hourly rate. Styling and care options include blowouts, updos for special occasions, curl training, K18 molecular repair, deep conditioning and detangling.

Consultations are free. Walk-ins are taken based on availability, though booking ahead is recommended, and a waitlist is available by phone or online. The front desk can be reached at (206) 803-7300 by phone or text, or at info at redchairrocks.com. The salon is closed on Sundays and Mondays. Through its model program, apprentice stylists work under master educators to perform discounted services: haircuts are $25, color or highlights are $40 plus $15 per extra process, and styling or blowouts are $15. A Pay What You Can chair is offered on select services on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12 to 4 PM.

Cancellations or reschedules should be made at least 24 hours ahead by phone or text at (206) 922-2427 or (206) 234-3721. Changes made within 24 hours may be charged 50 percent of the appointment cost, and same-day no-shows, cancellations or reschedules at 10 AM or later may be charged up to the full cost. A card on file is required and is charged only if the policy is violated. Appointments that run long because of hair health, thickness or slow processing may be billed at the stylist's hourly rate. Clients who are not satisfied may request a complimentary adjustment within 7 days. Retail product sales are final. Gift cards can be bought in the salon or online and used for services or retail. The salon provides transformational cuts for hair donations at standard rates but does not process the donations themselves, and most organizations ask for 10 to 12 inches of virgin hair. Wig styling, extensions, perms, chemical straightening, skin fades and standalone trims are not offered.

Prioritizes hair health over speed, with a consultation before each service so the client and stylist agree on the plan.
