Primp Salon was established seven years before its About page was written. Over the past decade it has grown, and together with the skincare space run by Terri Doan it now offers a combined menu of hair, eyebrow and skin services at 1011 Frederick Road.

The salon says its aim is to help clients feel more confident and enhance their natural look through newer techniques and quality products, and to deliver a consistently good experience that meets each client's needs. Hours are Monday 10am to 3pm, Wednesday and Thursday 10am to 8pm, and Friday 10am to 6pm.

Every visit starts with a consultation to decide on the right service, based on where the hair is now, the result the client wants and how much length is being cut. Prices shown are base prices and can change with the stylist and with hair length and density. The salon may decline a service until it judges the hair healthy enough to handle it. For color appointments, clients should arrive with clean hair that is neither greasy nor freshly washed and wet; arriving with wet hair adds an extra blow dry charge. Clients who arrive more than 15 minutes late may need to reschedule.

The skincare space is at the rear lower level of the building, across from the Library and the Knights of Columbus Hall in Catonsville. Cancellations made at least 48 hours ahead carry no penalty; later cancellations are charged half the base service price to the card on file, and no-shows are charged the full service fee.
