Premier Cuts is a locally owned, walk-in salon that began as a college business project between two close friends. The first location opened in San Marcos on February 10, 2005, and the business now has five salons across Round Rock, Kyle, San Marcos, New Braunfels and San Antonio, Texas.

About

The salon says it has served Central Texas for more than 20 years and names friendly service, affordable prices and ties to its communities as its priorities. No appointment is needed, and online booking isn't offered. The salon is open Monday through Saturday from 9 am to 7 pm and closed on Sundays.

The menu centers on men's, women's and children's haircuts, with styling, braids, waxing and add-ons such as a shampoo, a bald fade or a neck trim. Children's haircuts for ages 10 and under are $18, and first-haircut certificates can be requested. A kids' airplane chair is available for younger clients.

Several locations host independent color specialists, who set their own services and prices. Kyle offers suite rentals for color technicians, while Round Rock and New Braunfels offer private rooms for color technicians and for lash or esthetician professionals.

Discounts include $4 off a haircut for clients 65 and older on Mondays and Thursdays, and reduced haircut pricing for active first responders and military personnel who show a badge at checkout. Employees of H-E-B, Seton Medical Center, Central Texas Medical Center and Dell Technologies get a discount with a work badge. Haircut concerns should be raised within three days of the visit; the salon asks for a chance to adjust or redo the cut first, and refunds are not issued for concerns raised later or if the cut is corrected elsewhere without notifying the salon.

The salon says its priorities are friendly service, affordable prices and staying connected to the communities it serves.

A kids' airplane chair is provided for children.
