About

Power Hair is a private, full-service studio in Bushwick, Brooklyn, run by appointment with hours that change from week to week. The studio was founded by Amanda Power after about a decade of working for others in the industry. Gina Divine works as the studio's Cut and Color Specialist.

The salon describes its stylists as experienced and current with hair trends and techniques, and says it serves a broad audience rather than a select group of clients. It describes the space as clean and welcoming for all clients. No headshot is needed to book, and the studio does not seek influencers or work with modeling agencies.

Booking is done by text to the studio's phone line, which the salon says is the quickest way to reach it, though replies can take up to 72 hours. The online booking form takes a preferred date and time, lets clients choose Amanda, Gina or no preference, and covers consultations, haircuts, coloring, styling and wedding consultations. A submitted request is not a confirmed appointment. The studio does not serve anyone under twelve, and services for twelve and up are charged at list price.

The salon describes its pricing as transparent. A consultation fee that is not followed by a booked service is kept for the stylist's time and intellectual property. Deposits are paid through Venmo or PayPal, and no credit card numbers are taken. Cancellations or reschedules need 48 hours' notice, or the deposit is not refunded. Arriving 15 or more minutes late or not showing up may mean the service cannot be provided and the deposit is kept. Without a deposit, the required notice or on time arrival, the client is asked to pay 50% of the scheduled service. Clients can request changes to a cut or color within seven days of the service date. Stylists may decline a service they believe will not suit a client and will refer them elsewhere.

Aims for everyday hair that suits each client, with pricing the salon describes as transparent.

A clean, welcoming private studio that the salon describes as open to all clients.
