Her career in hair spans more than twenty years, including two salons she owned and ran in Los Angeles and time spent working in Amsterdam before she settled in Virginia over two decades ago.

The services are grouped into menus. Starters covers bang and neck trims, eyebrow services and lip services. The men's and women's bar menus cover cuts, fades, razor work, styling and color. The Entrees menu holds most color, lightening, balayage, foil, thermal, perm and transformation services, while Avant Garde Desserts offers specialty lightening and vivid color after a consultation. Hair extensions are offered a la carte, priced after a free consultation.

A visit is shaped around the client. Ideas for new and off-the-fringe styles come from the client during the appointment, and the work can range from simple hair care to elaborate styling. Walk-ins are accepted. The salon is open 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Mondays and 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Tuesday through Saturday, and it is closed Sundays. Consultations need 48 hours' notice to cancel. Gift cards are available.

Styles are developed with each client during the appointment, from everyday upkeep to elaborate looks.
