Clients are asked to disclose any concerns, conditions or medications at the first consultation and to allow at least three weeks of hair growth before a wax. Areas affected by warts, moles, rashes, irritated skin or sunburn are not waxed.

Aftercare guidance asks clients to avoid hot baths, saunas, hot tubs, tanning, exercise and chlorinated pools after waxing, and to skip deodorant, lotion and powder on the treated skin. Redness and bumps are described as a normal response that varies with skin sensitivity. Gentle exfoliation a few days before and again after treatment is recommended to help prevent ingrown hairs.
