Between them they bring more than two decades of hair experience, with Rachel working both behind the chair and in the classroom.

The salon focuses on color and extensions tailored to each client. Troy is a color specialist who works on blonding and dimensional results, and he also cuts with scissors, razors and clippers. Rachel specializes in custom color and seamless extensions and mentors newer stylists. The salon also runs in-house education for professionals, and it invites people who want to teach cutting, coloring, styling or other subjects to get in touch.

A visit is one-on-one. Troy handles every part of a service himself, from the first consultation through the finishing touches, and he shows clients how to maintain their hair at home. The salon describes its space as one for self-expression and feeling empowered.

There is no front desk and no receptionist, and Rachel and Troy manage their own schedules. Clients book by texting the salon at (724) 916-5161, and communication is by text only. Booking requires a valid card on file. Changes or cancellations need at least 24 hours' notice, and changes made within 24 hours may carry a 50% service fee. No-shows and same-day cancellations are charged the full scheduled service, and arriving more than 15 minutes late may mean the appointment is adjusted or rescheduled, with a late cancellation fee possible. Metered street parking is directly outside the shop, and two public lots are nearby. Street parking is paid with quarters or the flowbird app, and the lots are paid through the flowbird app or parking kiosks.

Rachel and Troy tailor color and extensions to each client's style, and Troy handles each service himself from start to finish.
