Northside Hair Co. opened in summer 2023 and was founded by co-owners Susan Newman, Kristen Andrews and Emily Weinstein, who together have nearly 60 years of combined experience. The salon is in the Edgewater Public Market at 5505 West 20th Avenue, Suite 136, between Gladys and the Tangled Ball.

The salon's focus is inclusivity and building lasting relationships with clients, with the aim of helping each person feel good about how they look.

Clients can start with a free-standing 15-minute consultation. Bang trims also take 15 minutes. The curly haircut is a 1 hour 30 minute session covering a custom dry cut with wash, styling and education, and clients are asked to arrive with their hair in its natural state and little or no product.
