Noella was founded by Melissa Mullaney Jorstad, who set it up to help clients feel confident and comfortable in their own skin. The salon is at 32 Court Street in Plymouth, in a botanical-themed space, with parking behind the building.

Visits begin with a conversation about the client's hair, features and daily routine, and each cut and color is shaped around those. Stylists also advise on care at home. Every color appointment includes a glaze and a short conditioning treatment, and haircuts and blow dries include a shampoo with a five-minute conditioning treatment. Prices depend on stylist level, whether Junior, Stylist or Director. A wash and blow dry starts at $50 with a Junior, a Noella Luxury haircut is $60 with a Junior, and balayage ranges from $255 to $295 by level.

Beyond color and cuts, the salon offers foiling, balayage and foliage framing, partial or full Brazilian smoothing, a mineral removal treatment and a B3Bonding conditioner treatment. Extensions are priced after a consultation. Weddings are done in the salon on any day it is open, and inquiries go by email with the date and the number of styles needed. Waxing covers brows, lip, chin and full face. Groups of three or more need two weeks' notice to book.

A luxury boutique inside the salon carries Davines, Aveda and Jane Iredale products, along with clothing, jewelry, home goods, gifts, books and children's items. The brands are chosen for sustainability, ethical practices and empowerment, and many are women-owned, small or AAPI-founded. Handmade and locally sourced work from Plymouth artists is included. A planned upstairs event space, The Space at Noella, is intended for meetings, classes and private events.

Each service and color is customized to the client's hair, features and lifestyle, with advice on home haircare. The salon says its staff is committed to advanced education.
