Monica Neish launched Neish Hair in 2012, formerly known as Fake Beauty. Her interest in hair extensions grew into her own line of premium extensions, started after she noticed a gap in the market.
Both studios are appointment only and do not take walk-ins. Every service begins with a complimentary consultation, where the stylist assesses hair health, texture, density and scalp, then builds a plan and gives a quote before any work starts. Prices are not published and are quoted at that consultation. Extension hair is priced separately from installation, and the cost varies by length, colour and weight. Products and services are non-refundable. Toronto is open Tuesday to Saturday with shorter hours on Wednesday and Saturday; Miami is open Tuesday to Saturday.
The extension line is made from 100% virgin cuticle hair with every cuticle running the same direction from root to tip. The site says the hair is ethically sourced from around the world. Lengths run from 15 to 35 inches, with longer custom lengths on order, and the in-store collection holds hundreds of bundles so clients can try more than five lengths with a stylist. Colours can be custom matched to natural hair using a cold soaking and osmosis process on untouched or organically altered hair.
Installation methods include tape-in tabs using polyurethane adhesive tape and seamless wefts hand-sewn onto small silicone-lined beads, with no glue or heat. Seamless wefts can be installed for natural volume or mega volume.
Clients include celebrities, models, influencers and brands, according to the site. The Miami page describes the salon as Toronto's luxury hair extension salon.
Installs are designed to protect natural hair, with each plan built around the client's hair health, texture, density and scalp.
