MOONCAT Beauty Lounge is open Tuesday to Friday from 11am to 6pm and Saturday from 11am to 5pm, and is closed on Sundays and Mondays. Clients can call or text (713) 566-0086 to book. A credit card deposit is taken at booking for all clients or for appointments over $50.

The studio is run by its owner, Katerina Kovalchuk, who works as a lash, brow and permanent makeup artist. Eyelash extensions come in three styles: classic, which applies one extension to each natural lash, light volume for a denser and fuller look, and premium volume, which fans three or more thin lashes onto each natural lash. Full sets take roughly 1 hour 15 minutes to 2 hours 30 minutes depending on the style. Lash lifts with tint take 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours, and the tint darkens lighter lashes. The results of a lash lift and tint last about 6 to 8 weeks.

Brow services include eyebrow lamination, shaping and tweezing, and tinting. Brow lamination is a semi-permanent treatment that lasts up to 6 to 8 weeks, and the brow lamination kit service takes 15 minutes to 1 hour 20 minutes. A combined lash lift and brow lamination visit is available, and lash lifts, brow lamination and brow shaping are offered for men.

Permanent makeup covers microblading, powder brows and ombre brows, eyeliner and lash enhancement, and lip blush. Eyeliner and lash enhancement usually needs a touch-up 6 to 8 weeks after the first procedure and lasts about 3 to 5 years. Lip blush also needs a touch-up 6 to 8 weeks in and lasts about a year. Healing takes about 4 to 6 weeks, with no swimming for the first 4 weeks. Permanent makeup clients receive an aftercare kit with forehead cover and tattoo cream.

Beyond client services, the studio teaches. Courses include a 2-day online Elite Brow Lamination course offered in Basic, Premium and VIP packages, a 2-day Classic Lash Extension course, a 2-day Volume Lash Extension course for licensed estheticians or cosmetologists with classic lash experience, a 2-day High Ticket Lash Extensions course, and a 1-day Keratin Lash Lift course where students leave with a lash lift kit. One-on-one mentoring for brows and lashes is also available, along with an online mini course on social media and marketing.

Policies: arrive 5 to 10 minutes early with clean, makeup-free eyes and lashes, since late arrivals are charged the full service cost even if the service is shortened. Appointments can be moved or cancelled without penalty with at least 24 hours notice. Changes within 24 hours carry a 50% fee, and no-shows or same-day cancellations are charged the full service. A one-time allowance applies for last-minute changes due to sickness or a family emergency. Clients with a contagious illness in the household should reschedule. Concerns raised within 72 hours of an appointment may receive a complimentary 30-minute express touch-up if the issue comes from application or product. No refunds are given for services or products. Clients must be 18 or older, guests should come unaccompanied, and no pets are allowed in the lash studio other than service animals. After-hours appointments are considered case by case for an additional $100 fee. New clients with extensions from another artist must book a relash, which may mean removing the extensions and applying a full set at full set price. Clients are asked to avoid retinol creams for 4 weeks, Botox for 4 weeks and antibiotics for 2 months before services.
