MK salon & spa is at 1401 1/2 King St. in Old Town, Alexandria. The salon notes that it is now under new management. Hours run Monday through Saturday from 10am to 7pm, with Sunday hours from 12pm to 5pm.

Facials are a major part of the menu. The signature spa facial takes 55 minutes and costs $140, and includes deep cleansing exfoliation, a massage and a nourishing mask. The hydrating facial is a 60-minute deep moisturizing treatment at $185. Vitamin C ($185) and anti-aging ($195) facials are also offered, and Zina adds oxygen, anti-aging and gentleman's facials to the skin menu.

Hair services cover cuts, color and blowouts for women, men and children. Color options include full color, retouches, partial and full highlights, balayage, and combinations of color with a cut or blow-dry. Keratin treatments and Brazilian blowouts start at $450, and relaxers and perms are also offered. An MK signature hair masque treatment is $25 and a Brazilian deep conditioning treatment is $30.

Nails, make-up, waxing and body scrubs round out the menu. Manicures and pedicures range from classic to shellac and spa options, with combined mani-pedi prices. Make-up includes eyebrow tint, make-up application and wedding day make-up. Waxing covers face and body areas, and threading is available for brows, upper lip and the full face. Body scrub is $125.

Facials, massages and chemical services require credit card information to hold an appointment. Cancellations need 24 hours notice to avoid a fee, and same-day cancellations and no-shows are charged the full booked service to the card on file. Cancellations and rescheduling must be made by phone during working hours, not by email. Clients more than 10 minutes late may need to reschedule. Walk-ins are welcome based on availability and may wait if the salon is busy. Hair service corrections must be requested within 7 days of the appointment, and no refunds are given because of the nature of the work. Visa, MasterCard, Discover and cash are accepted.
