Minerva's Hair & Nails opened in 2014 and sits on East Grand River Avenue in Brighton. The salon is open Tuesday through Thursday from 9 am to 8 pm, Friday from 9 am to 5 pm and Saturday from 8 am to 3 pm, and is closed on Mondays and Sundays.

Hair services range from women's, men's and children's cuts to color, highlights, balayage and Keratin smoothing treatments. Color consultations are complimentary, and hair extension installation begins with a consultation. Because minors must come with an adult and a parent or guardian must be present for all color services and color consultations, families should plan accordingly. New clients booking color services or full set eyelash extensions pay a $50 deposit, which is taken off the total at the end of the appointment.

The nail technicians are CND certified, according to the salon. Lash services cover classic, hybrid and volume full sets, fills, removals, lash lifts and tints, and the lash specialists are certified in Xtreme Lashes, according to the salon.

Skin care includes facials of several lengths, an image peel, an oxygen facial, a facial with peel, and Hydrafacial treatments that use vortex fusion technology. The salon describes its Hydrafacial as one of the most effective non-invasive skin resurfacing treatments available and says it suits any skin type. Clients are asked to avoid exfoliants for two days before a Hydrafacial, avoid chemical peels or lasers for two weeks before, and wait two weeks after Botox or filler treatments before booking. Makeup can be applied straight after the treatment. Makeup lessons, makeup application and airbrush makeup are available and are booked by phone.

Three packages bundle services: The Mini Journey, The Mindful and The Calm. Packages expire one year after purchase and all package services must be completed on the same day. Clients should arrive 10 to 15 minutes early to complete intake forms and change for spa services, and are encouraged to book their next visit before leaving. Cancellations need 24 hours' notice; a 50% fee applies to the next reserved appointment if a cancelled slot cannot be filled, and a 100% fee applies to a no-show or a missed call to reschedule. Private party and bridal party bookings require a $100 deposit when reserving. Gift cards are non-refundable and can be used toward any service, product or boutique item. Military discounts are offered.

The salon says it uses all natural hair care and skin care products and works with Kevin Murphy and Leef Organics for hair and Image Skincare for skin.
