The salon works by appointment only and does not take walk-ins. Booking two to four weeks ahead is recommended, especially for weekends and particular stylists.

Pricing is based on time rather than on the service chosen. Each booked block covers the consultation, the service, products and styling, and the stylist's hourly rate is multiplied by the time the service needs. According to the FAQ, hourly rates range from $80 to $250. One rate applies regardless of gender or age, with no add-ons, upsells, hidden fees or expected tipping. Appointments are not rushed or double-booked. Suggested times assume average hair, and very thick or long hair may need extra time or add-ons.

Every appointment starts with a consultation. Before booking, new guests can request a complimentary 15-minute FaceTime call or an in-person consultation, and a consultation form lets them share hair history, goals and photos, with replies sent within 24 business hours. Lock services require a consultation first. The one-hour lock consultation costs $100, which is applied toward installation if the client goes ahead; the fee itself is non-refundable. Services can also be booked as timed sessions, from a one-hour Meet Up up to a five-hour All Nighter, each bundling particular coloring, highlighting or cutting services.

The salon describes its space as genderless and open to all people regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation or expression, and aims to offer a one-to-one, gratuity-free experience in an environmentally and socially conscious setting. It partners with Green Circle Salons and TerraCycle to recycle and repurpose salon materials, including cut hair, and donates 1% of profits to The Sam and Devorah Foundation for Trans Youth. It also describes itself as a safe space for gender affirming haircuts.

The salon is open Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm, Wednesday and Friday from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm; it is closed Mondays, though stylists set their own schedules and may be available at other times. Children's services are booked by the hour at the same rate, and children must be able to sit on their own. Extra guests are not allowed because space is limited, and children under 18 and animals (other than trained service dogs) are not permitted unless they are receiving a service. Cancellations and reschedules need at least 24 hours' notice; cancelling within 48 hours carries a 50% fee, and cancelling within 24 hours or not showing up carries a 100% fee. Clients running more than 15 minutes late should call. Refunds are not offered, but adjustment requests can be made within 7 days of the visit, and minor tweaks are free. Stylists use dry cutting on curly hair to see how curls fall naturally and switch to wet cutting when the hair needs it. The salon's curl care draws on several educational systems without being defined by any one of them.
