Melody Edens founded this salon in 2010 in the Monte Vista area, and it occupies a spot in the Monte Vista historic district at 148 E. Huisach Ave. Guests arrive from several communities, including San Antonio, Monte Vista, Alta Vista, Alamo Heights, Boerne, Terrell Hills and Olmos Park Terrace, along with nearby towns.

The salon says its mission is to bring beauty, empowerment and joy to clients and the community through creative skills and a culture of education, quality, service and communication. The philosophy behind the salon is that each client is listened to and given high-quality skills and service. Everyone on the design team is ABCH certified, and the salon describes itself as the only American Board of Certified Haircolorists salon in San Antonio.

Pricing is shaped by several factors: a stylist's experience and any advanced training, how much demand there is for them, and the condition and quantity of a client's hair. Services fall under three headings, Cut, Color and Care. A free consultation lets guests ask about cost before committing. Color and conditioning come with a modest fee for additional product used. Reminders go out by email or text 48 hours ahead, and if a visit hasn't been confirmed, a call or text follows 24 hours before. Cancellations and reschedules need 24 hours' notice. Missed appointments without notice are billed at the full price of the booked service. Anyone running 10 or more minutes late is asked to phone the salon. Children under 12 need to be accompanied by an adult.

The front entrance is wheelchair accessible with handicap parking in the front driveway. Additional parking is in a lot behind the salon, reached through the alley off McCullough, and the salon entrance is up a flight of stairs from that lot. The salon has supported the San Antonio Chapter of the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition since 2012 through donations, exhibiting and fundraising.

The salon's mission centers on creative skill, education, quality, service and communication, with each client listened to before work begins.
