Color came first, and extensions were added later. Megan handles the color and the extensions for each client from start to finish, so the studio's clients often come from previous stylists who did only one of the two.
Color services can be booked online through the booking menu. Starting prices run from $120 for a gloss to $450 for full blonding or a full bleachout, and the final quote depends on the client's hair. To begin a color booking, clients send a recent photo of their color and length through the consultation form. Extension clients start with an in-person consultation of up to 30 minutes, booked by Megan, and extension prices are quoted there based on the amount of hair, the method and the color work.
The extension method is picked at the consultation, once the stylist has assessed the client's own hair. K-tips are small keratin bonds hand-made for each client and matched to their density and color. Installing them takes 1.5 to 3 hours, depending on how much hair is being added, and they stay in for 3 to 5 months before a complete reinstall. Beaded wefts are rows of hair sewn onto a beaded base along the natural hair, adding length and fullness in a single visit. A weft install runs about an hour and a half. Wefts get moved up every 8 weeks, and each move-up takes around 30 minutes.
All extension hair is 100% Remy, pulled from more than one supplier, and Megan matches the color. Properly maintained, a set can be reused for as long as 12 months. According to the studio, extensions don't cause damage when they're installed and looked after correctly, and clients are reminded that what they do at home counts just as much as the shade, including fitting a shower filter if their water is hard.
Extension method is chosen at a consultation by looking at each client's own hair, and results are treated as teamwork between the stylist and the client at home.
The space is a plain, uncluttered suite with white walls, arched mirrors and an olive tree.
