Fringe is at 1656 West Cortland Street, roughly a block from the Clybourn Metra station and close to the Ashland bus stop, with street parking available nearby. Its clientele comes from Bucktown and Wicker Park across to Logan Square, Lincoln Park, Ukrainian Village and Humboldt Park, plus surrounding areas, suburbs and visitors to Chicago. Hours are Monday through Thursday 10am to 8pm, Friday and Saturday 9am to 5pm, and the salon is closed Sundays.

About

Every visit begins with a personal consultation. A phone consultation can be arranged for anyone unsure what to book, and a complimentary consultation is recommended before a significant color or style change. Color and extensions services each start with a consultation, and major color changes can include a complimentary 30-minute consultation. Clients can see which services each professional offers when booking, and can book and manage appointments through the Fringe mobile app on the Apple App Store.

The menu is grouped into color, extensions, cutting and finishing, and treatments, with skin services, brow shaping, waxing and lash lifts and tints also offered. Gift certificates are available. Cancellations or date changes require at least 24 hours' notice, and missed appointments are charged half the service price.

Every visit starts with a consultation, and the salon says it curates only professional products chosen for innovation, performance and ingredient integrity. Team members continue their education in hair and skin techniques.
