Maven & Mane

Maven & Mane is a group of independent stylists who work under one brand, with locations in Sarasota and St. Petersburg. Each stylist manages their own schedule and bookings. The salon describes itself as a community of dedicated professionals and describes its stylists as uniquely skilled and educated in all aspects of hair.

Its extension hair is made from single-donor, cuticle-intact hair sourced in Eastern Europe, and comes in micro wefts in 16, 21 and 25 inch lengths. Packs hold one or two wefts, each 12 inches wide, and the wefts are double drawn so the thickness stays even from seam to ends. Eighteen custom shades are available pre-rooted, in solid colors, or in piano for custom rooting. Pre-rooted wefts are balayaged with plant-based dyes. According to the salon, the wefts can be cut anywhere on the seam without shedding and lie flatter and feel more comfortable than other wefts.

The extension line was created by Kasey, who founded Maven & Mane Extensions after problems with other extension brands, including tangling, color fading and breakage. The salon also has an extension education section on its site called Maven EDU, and it offers a system called Light Strands, which is applied with an LED light and adhesive.

To book, clients use the website, or contact their chosen stylist by phone or email for a one-on-one consultation about the result they want. The salon's phone and text line is 941.404.5599. Pricing for each stylist's services is provided on request rather than listed online, and extension hair and pricing are available to stylists only after they apply for access.

Clients who arrive 30 or more minutes late must reschedule. A client who no-shows or cancels less than 24 hours before an appointment must pay a $50 deposit for their next appointment. Children are asked not to come along to the salon.

Each stylist works independently on their own schedule, and clients discuss their goals one-on-one with the stylist they choose.
