The salon was founded by Doris Cuellar, a licensed cosmetologist who began her career distributing beauty products to salons in Crown Heights. She later worked at a Flatbush salon and spa that offered spa services only, and she also rented a chair at another location, where she spent more than a decade working on dreadlocks, braids, hair extensions and color.

Booking requires a deposit, and the amount depends on the service. Clients receive a confirmation call, and an appointment is not confirmed until that call is made. Prices vary with hair length, texture and the number of locs, and listed prices are before sales tax. Some services, including permanent color, loc repair and permanent loc extensions, begin with a consultation.
