Every visit begins with a consultation. Haircut prices are set by each stylist's chair rate and are the same at both Manhattan salons, while color, treatment and skincare prices follow the services menu. Clients can book online or walk in when a chair is free, and are asked to arrive on time because late arrivals are not guaranteed their appointment. Services are for clients 13 and older. Weddings, on-camera work and in-home grooming are arranged by email rather than online.

Shaving is a large part of the menu. The Shave runs about an hour and combines a hot towel, a straight-razor shave over foam, and an eye mask, face mask and scalp massage. The L'Erboristica Shave is a 45-minute option using products from the L'Erboristica Apothecary, and the L'Erboristica Steam Shave adds a steamer for a longer session. Beard trims range from a 30-minute clipper-and-scissor cut to a version finished with a straight-edge razor.

Color services also begin with a consultation, during which the colorist matches tone to the client's natural base. Curly haircuts are personalized to each client's texture.

The skincare menu includes facials from a 45-minute express treatment to a 90-minute custom facial, using methods such as resurfacing, microneedling and LED therapy. Hair treatments include keratin and smoothing services, a relaxer straightening, a scalp massage and an anti-dandruff scalp treatment.

A men's-first salon in which every service starts with a consultation, with color matched to each client's natural base and a grooming line the salon makes in-house from all-natural, organic ingredients.

Coverage in the press portrays the Midtown location as low-key and members-only in feel, something like a private gentlemen's society.
